Final Music Video Production for Odesza Bloom

Here is one of the two ancillary texts for our A2 media coursework. This is a website for our band Odesza. We have included many different aspects of real life websites such as a gallery of the band, social media links and music download links.

Ancillary Text - DVD Cover for Odesza

Here is our second ancillary text for our A2 Media. We have made 4 quick changes from previous edits to make this cover the highest quality it can be. Firstly, we have added the words 'In Return' onto the front cover now because it is needed for the consumer to know what this specific DVD is called not only on the spine but also the front. Also, we have changed the font colour of 'In Return' from white to red so that it stands out from the plain white and fits in with the colour scheme of the red jumper. I got the exact same red as the jumper by sampling with the sample tool on Photoshop, therefore it is the same shade so continuity. The next change we made was to add a copyright logo next to the third and final recording group on the back cover on the middle row, it did not have one before and that was just a mistake as we forgot to add it in. Finally, we made the smallest of changes to the man on the front by filling in the colour between the black morph mask and the jumper around the neck area so that it gives the man a more 'mysterious' feel to him.

Overall, even though these changes may seen minor, now they are corrected we feel as though there is no flaws now with the cover at all and could easily be placed on the shelf of any retailer if it was a genuine product.

Evaluation Question 1

For my first of four evaluation questions for A2 Media, I have decided to do a directors commentary over the top of our production. Throughout I speak about how our music video is similar to real life media products and prove this by including screenshots of similar shots from other music videos.

For this evaluation question I decided to create a Prezi Slideshow as it helped clearly visualise how my ancillary texts fitted with my main product.

This is a link to my Evaluation question 3. I created a Prezi Slideshow as it is an alternative to a regular slideshow so keeps the viewer engaged. I have also included a backing track of our Odesza song Bloom to add to the viewing experience.

This is our final evaluation question. We have decided to speak over a PowerPoint slide showing off each area of our media technologies used to create our main music video as well as the ancillary texts.
